Testimonials

“Scarcely can an artisan be as accommodating to the whims of a client as I found Louis Pulzetti at Emmet’s Hill Wood and Glass to be. For a pass-through window in an unglamorous corner of my kitchen, I wanted a stained glass panel for both light and beauty. An admirer of stained glass, I first began to sketch out a design inspired by a contemporary glass door I know in a village house in France. From there, with conversational email, scans and faxes and little tiles of glass, color samples from which to choose, Louis and I worked together to invent a design; it went through several iterations until it was ready to be made. The final piece was still based on my ideas, largely, but, at Louis’s proposal, incorporated an organic trill of a line inspired by other artwork around my house. It speaks to an installation in the window over the sink, not pictured, with similar colors in glass bottles of varying shape, translucency, and vintage. Installed, it does me proud; does Mr. Pulzetti prouder. Collaboration is an art in itself.”

“‘Several years ago, I bought two arts and crafts style table lanterns. They are gorgeous. The woodwork and stained glass are expertly done. A number of people who have visited my home have commented on how lovely they are.”

“My husband and I had a wonderful experience working with stained glass artist Louis Pulzetti of Emmet’s Hill Wood and Glass. We met Louis when we were in the process of building a post and beam house with an Arts and Crafts flavor. We loved the stained glass features of the houses designed by the architects Greene and Greene and wanted to incorporate some of those ideas into our new home. The end result was a beautiful rendering of a pink magnolia tree encompassing our front door, side panels and transom. It’s a remarkable piece of artistry that highlights both Louis’ skill with glass and my husband’s woodworking skill (he undertook the huge job of making the door, side panels and windows)! The collaboration between homeowner and artist made the project a satisfying and personal experience for all of us. Once we settled on the idea of a pink magnolia, Louis was able to draw sketches for us and show us various colors and types of glass that could be used for the blossoms, leaves and trunk of the tree. Louis was full of creative ideas, but never forced his opinions on us. Rather, he welcomed our input at each stage of the project. After months of hard work and hundreds of pieces of glass, Louis had created a stunning display for our entryway that draws praise from everyone who sees it. Without a doubt, it’s the highlight of our home. As a person, Louis is a joy to work with. He’s funny and easy going, while remaining professional in every respect. He reliably met deadlines and kept us updated on his progress along the way. I recommend Louis and his work without reservation to anyone who appreciates the beauty of stained glass and the pleasure of having an original work of art incorporated into their home.”

“Lou Pulzetti is the ultimate master craftsman. With a passion for working with wood and glass and an eye for artistry and detail, he creates unique pieces that could be considered heirlooms as they will surely last through the generations. Our company hired him most recently to create 34 custom stained glass panels for an entryway in a post and beam home we were building for a client. Collaborating with the homeowner, Lou developed a magnolia motif for the entry, inspired by the homeowner’s love of magnolia trees. The entryway design was adapted from an early 1900’s arts & crafts home designed by architects Greene & Greene. Lou created a masterpiece using four different types of glass, and every combination of layering and size graduation to give a a three-dimensional effect. Lou loves what he does and this shows in his work and in his relationship with his clients (both our company and the homeowners). I would highly, highly recommend him to anyone seeking to add a one-of-a-kind take-your-breath-away stained glass piece to their home.”
